Father, Dad, Daddy (2020)
Father, Dad, Daddy is an experimental video that combines abstract digital art, group performance, textual content, and both 2D and 3D animation through cross-editing techniques. This piece delves into the exploration of a hybridised queer identity by incorporating intimate and erotic performances, symbolic animations, and fetishistic costumes.
The work aims to break down the barriers of sex, gender, and sexuality, while questioning and challenging heteronormativity, homonormativity, and patriarchal structures. By steering clear of possible ‘global homogenization’ and ‘homocolonialism’, this project seeks to bring attention to the Asian queer community, who often confront societal bias, discrimination, and stigmatization.
